Research on Provincial Highways

We have included some of our research on provincial highways here for public viewing.

This data is largely based on 2021 numbers from the Ministry of Transportation. They have

not published since that time, unfortunately. The ratios show that northern highways are much more dangerous and the loss of life potential in a crash is much greater than anywhere else in the province. There's a reason we see the crashes we do and the loss of life because it isn't the same elsewhere in the province. The numbers of deaths per capita do not compare.
